How to find a playlist ID
What you get
Playlist IDs usually start with a prefix such as PL for creator playlists or UU for a channel’s uploads.
Links copied mid-playlist carry extra parameters like index= and si=. The rebuilt links keep only what is needed.
The YouTube Data API, playlist embeds, and many automation tools ask for the playlist ID rather than the full URL.
The ID is read directly from the link on your device. No request is made to YouTube.
Common questions
Formats, prefixes, and where to find the ID.
It is the unique code that identifies a playlist. In a URL it appears after list=, for example youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxxxxxxxx.
PL is used for playlists created by users. UU is a channel’s automatic uploads playlist. Other prefixes, such as OL for albums and LL for liked videos, identify special playlists.
When a video is playing inside a playlist, its URL includes list= followed by the playlist ID. Paste that link here and the tool extracts it.
Use the YouTube Playlist Length Calculator to add up the duration of every accessible video in the playlist.
