YouTube monetization checker FAQ

Can I check whether a YouTube channel is monetized?

You can estimate whether a public channel is likely monetized from visible signals such as subscribers, uploads, and audience size. YouTube does not publish every channel’s confirmed Partner Program status, so only the channel owner can verify it in YouTube Studio.

What does “Likely monetized” mean?

It means the channel shows several public signals commonly associated with established YouTube Partner Program channels. It is an observation-based estimate, not a guarantee that the channel is currently earning ad revenue.

Do ads on a YouTube video prove that the channel is monetized?

No. YouTube may show ads on content even when the creator is not eligible to receive a share of that revenue, so seeing an advertisement is not reliable proof of channel monetization.

What are the YouTube Partner Program requirements?

For advertising revenue through January 31, 2027, YouTube lists 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the previous 12 months or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the previous 90 days. YouTube has announced higher watch-hour and Shorts-view thresholds for new applicants beginning February 1, 2027.

Why can’t a public monetization checker give an exact answer?

Important eligibility details are private, including qualified watch hours, qualified Shorts views, active strikes, policy review, AdSense status, and the creator’s accepted program modules. A public checker cannot access those account-only details.

How can a channel owner confirm monetization status?

Sign in to YouTube Studio and open the Earn section. That is the authoritative place to see eligibility progress, application status, and active monetization features for the channel.
